The Two Hander – One camera, two actors
A good mix of material (monologues and multi-actor scenes) on your showreel is important. A good ‘two-hander’ lets directors and casting agents see, you can not only bring the performance, but you can also work well with other cast members.
Many actors have written scenes themselves, but the difficulty is how do you pull a scene like this together and how can you organise filming? Pocket Pictures makes it easy for you to get film scenes produced quickly and easily. If you’re already partnered with another actor, you can split the price of production, reducing the costs drastically. Alternatively, if you don’t have anyone to partner with, we can help to provide actors for you.
The Right Direction
What makes our showreel packages different is that we use 4K cameras as standard and you receive genuine acting direction from a working director. This helps you to get the best from your time in front of camera. In the relaxed environment of the Telsen Studio you’ll be able to try out new on-camera techniques and develop your on-camera skills.
All our showreel material is ‘produced’ to the highest standard meaning it will have a sound mix, music and be colour-graded to make you look ultimately professional.
What can I expect?
You’ll be working with a professional director, who will help and advise on each piece, both before, and during the shoot. Importantly, we’ll work with you to find the right location to shoot the scene. The scene will be up to 2 minutes in length. Typically, each two-hander will take an 2-3 hours (approx) to film. It will be shot from multiple angles and allow you as many ‘takes’ as you need to nail the performance. As we shoot all our scenes on high quality 4K cameras, high quality lenses and digital sound, so your scene will look and sound like it was created for TV.
After the filming we will edit the performance, with picture enhancements, adding music and effects if needed. Within 24 hours you’ll have the fully edited scene, complete with titles showing your contact details, agent, spotlight number etc.
The scene costs includes: 1 x director/camera person, 1 x sound recordist and all equipment costs (4K camera, lenses, LED lighting, digital sound recording kit) and full HD editing/sound mixing. Delivery of full HD (1920 x 1080) version of the scene via WeTransfer.
Two-hander’s are useful:

- Expand you characterisation styles
- Give your showreel a professional edge

* Some items like green screen compositing will have an additional cost due to extra editing time. Likewise, travel costs will apply if we film more than 10 miles away from the Telsen Studio. We will always tell you these costs in advance, there’s no misunderstanding.
